Book Courts

Online court booking

We have moved to a new court booking system which is now live: https://www.myacebook.net/mobile/day_view

New online lighting payment system

From 1st January 2023, NPTC will revert to charging for lights for regular bookings.

Goodbye to magnetic cards!

Paying for lights is entirely done through your Acebook wallet.

When you make a booking, the system will know whether lighting is required. If so, Acebook will check that you have enough credit in your wallet before allowing the booking to proceed.

How do I top up my Acebook wallet?

After logging in, click on the Credit button at the top right of the screen.

This button will be:

  • red if you don’t have any credit

  • green if you have some

From the screen that appears, you will be able to add €5, €10 or €20 to your account and also to transfer credits to other members. Payments can be made by debit card, credit card and Google Pay.

Who pays?

The person making the booking

How much is it?

€3 per hour per court independently of the number of people playing.

What happens on the court?

Before sunset

A light intensity detector will decide when to switch on the lights. For instance, if a booking covers the 4pm to 5pm slot and the sunset is scheduled for 4.21pm:

  • if there is a lot of cloud cover, the lights will go on at 4pm

  • if there is decent light, the lights will go on close to 4.21pm

The sensitivity of the detection is something we can tweak. Please send feedback on the club’s email address.

After sunset

The lights will come on automatically for your court 3 minutes prior to the start of your booking.

The lights will also switch off automatically 5 minutes after the end of your booking.

I have made a booking and I no longer want to play

Please make sure to cancel the booking, otherwise the lights will go on unnecessarily for the duration of your booking. Refunds only occur where the player who booked is the same as the player who cancels. Administrators who cancel a booking on behalf of a player will not trigger a refund.

What about group bookings e.g. Women’s Tuesday, Social Thursday, Championships?

Lights are still managed manually for those. This is to ensure that lights are not switched on unnecessarily over unused courts.

The person in charge of making the booking for those should NOT use the Leisure booking type but one of the following options:

  • Championships

  • Coaching

  • League

  • Maintenance

  • Other: for Women’s Tuesday and Wednesday, Men’s Monday, Tuesday and Saturday, Social Thursday and any other social events

If you want to make such a booking and don’t have the ability to do so in Acebook, please contact one of the captains.
